Work from home or come to the office

Voluntary Work from Home:

  • Working from home is still voluntary for those who do not need to come into the office (minus Photostudio, Kitchen, and anyone else who cannot work from home).

  • The office is open for anyone who would prefer to work from the office, or who has critical in-person business in the office.

  • All employees can choose the workplace in which they feel most productive while reducing their risk of exposure. 


  • Wearing masks is no longer mandatory at the office.

General Workplace Hygiene Guidance

  • Disinfect your work area regularly. 

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer and cover your mouth while coughing and sneezing.

  • Seek medical advice promptly if you are feeling unwell (fever, flu-like symptoms, respiratory illness symptoms).​​​​​​​

    Some useful hints for you!

    We know relocating to Germany can bring many questions regarding certain topics. 

    Subjects such as the Anmeldung (registration of your residential address), how & where to open a Bank account, and German Social Security may seem challenging.

    Free German bank account:

    As an employee of HelloFresh, you can benefit from special conditions and expert services offered by Deutsche Bank.

    Deutsche Bank offers special private accounts that can be opened also by people without a permanent residence in Germany. However, this would have to be opened directly in one of their branches. 

    Just complete the Advantage coupon and take it to your nearest Deutsche Bank branch to open your account.

    Social Security information webinars:

    Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) will advise you in an informative webinar (approx. 60 minutes) on what you should know about the German social security system.

    The next webinars will take place on the following dates: March, 7th / April, 5th / May, 2nd / June, 7th

    Our Office

    The office is open 24/7, while the Front Desk will be open from 8 AM to 7:00 PM.


    Access to and exit from the entire building after 7 P.M. and on weekends will only be possible from the Front Desk entrance in Block A.

    Any access to the building on the weekends must be flagged 24 hours in advance via office@hellofresh.com and registered with the security guard upon arrival at the Front Desk.

    The rooftop terrace will be closed at 10:00 PM every day.

    Here’s a quick checklist of what you need to do before coming to the office for the first time:


    • Fill out the employee ID card form

    • If you are driving to the office, please reach out to your manager beforehand, so they can book a parking spot for you.

    • If you have already received your laptop with your HelloFresh email - please install and use the Thing-it App to book your desk in your team area.


    *Please note that if you are driving/cycling to the office and would like to use our garage to park your bike or car, you must come to the front desk beforehand. We will provide you with a key fob so that you can freely move around the building.

    Covid-19

    Below you will find helpful information related to Covid-19 restrictions and regulations.

    How to get a sick note

    ​​​​​​​If you test positive on a rapid test, please call your doctor to receive your sick note and inform them that you are currently quarantined and inform your manager.

    If you don’t have a doctor, you can contact one of the practices listed on KV Berlin to report you tested positive, and call in advance to set up an appointment for your sick note. The website is in German but can be translated clearly into English via Google Translate.

    Corona App

    On your personal phone or anyone with a company phone, we strongly recommend downloading and using the app.

    You will need to present your proof of vaccination to your nearest Pharmacy along with your Anmeldung to have them uploaded into the app. 

    Entering Germany

    Entry Form: What's needed to enter Germany just by writing from which country are you coming from.
